「諾魯政府於1月15日斷絕與台灣的外交關係是其主權決定，但這依舊令人失望。台灣是一個值得信賴、理念相近的民主夥伴。中華人民共和國時常為了換取外交關係許下承諾，最終卻未能兌現。我們鼓勵所有國家擴大與台灣的往來，並持續支持民主、良善治理、透明以及法治。

“While the Government of Nauru’s action on January 15 to sever its diplomatic relationship with Taiwan is a sovereign decision, it is nonetheless a disappointing one. Taiwan is a reliable, likeminded, and democratic partner. The PRC often makes promises in exchange for diplomatic relations that ultimately remain unfulfilled. We encourage all countries to expand engagement with Taiwan and to continue to support democracy, good governance, transparency, and adherence to the rule of law.
