After careful consideration of the media release from the Government of the Republic of Nauru on January 15 regarding its termination of diplomatic relations with ROC (Taiwan), several key points emerge:

1. Establishing diplomatic relations is within Nauru’s sovereign right, any third party has no stance to intervene in its sovereign decision, whether Nauru chooses to accept Beijing’s "One-China Principle," or not.
2. We need to note that the UN General Assembly Resolution No. 2758 addressed and recognized the lawful seat of China in the UN system. With the Resolution on October 25, 1971, the lawful seat transitioned from the representation of Chiang Kai-shek to the People’s Republic of China. This resolution is specifically limited to the UN system, irrelevant to any change in the status of Taiwan.
3. Nauru's wrongful acknowledgment of Beijing's malicious, even evil, attempt that expand the scope of the resolution from within the UN system to apply it to the international community as a whole is ignorant.
4. Nauru acknowledges, in the new release, its diplomatic relations with the Republic of China (Taiwan) treated the latter as "a separate country," not a part of China.  However, they now claim that Taiwan is an inalienable part of China’s territory overnight. How could it be possible for Nauru to make such a transition, if Taiwan has not taken any action?

在仔細考慮諾魯共和國政府於1月15日有關終止與中華民國（台灣）的外交關係的媒體聲明後，出現了一些關鍵點：

1. 建立外交關係是諾魯的主權權利，任何第三方都無權干預其主權決定，無論諾魯是否選擇接受北京的「一國兩制」原則。
2. 我們必須注意，聯合國大會第2758號決議明確指出並承認中國在聯合國體系中的合法席位。該決議於1971年10月25日生效，合法席位由蔣中正的代表轉變為中華人民共和國。此決議僅限於聯合國體系，與台灣地位的變化無關。
3. 諾魯錯誤地承認了北京惡意、甚至邪惡的企圖，將該決議的範圍從聯合國體系內擴大到整個國際社會，是無知的行為。
4. 在新的聲明中，諾魯承認與中華民國（台灣）的外交關係，將後者視為「一個單獨的國家」，並非中國的一部分。然而，他們現在聲稱台灣在一夜之間成為「中國領土的不可分割的一部分」。如果台灣未採取任何行動，諾魯如何可能實現這樣的過渡。

The Government of the Republic of Nauru today announces that, in the best interests of the Republic and people of Nauru, we will be moving to the One-China Principle that is in line with UN Resolution 2758 which recognises the People's Republic of China (PRC) as the sole legal Government representing the whole of China and seeking resumption of full diplomatic relations with the People’s Republic of China (PRC).  諾魯共和國政府今天宣佈，為了共和國和諾魯人民的最佳利益，我們將轉向符合〈聯合國第2758號決議〉的「一個中國原則」，該決議承認中華人民共和國（PRC）是代表全中國的唯一合法政府，並尋求恢復與中華人民共和國（PRC）的全面外交關係。

This means that the Republic of Nauru will no longer recognise the Republic of China (Taiwan) as a separate country but rather as an inalienable part of China’s territory, and will sever “diplomatic relations” with Taiwan as of this day and no longer develop any official relations or official exchanges with Taiwan.

This change is in no way intended to affect our existing warm relationships with other countries.  這意味著諾魯共和國將不再承認中華民國（台灣）為一個單獨的國家，而是中國領土不可分割的一部分，並從今天起與台灣斷絕「外交關係」，不再與台灣發展任何官方關係或官方往來。這一變化絕不是為了影響我們與其他國家現有的友好關係。

Our government remains focused on moving Nauru forward and this policy change is a significant first step in moving forward with Nauru’s development.
