The United States congratulates Dr. Lai Ching-te on his victory in Taiwan’s presidential election. We also congratulate the Taiwan people for once again demonstrating the strength of their robust democratic system and electoral process. 美國祝賀賴清德醫師在台灣總統選舉中獲勝。我們也祝賀台灣人民再次展現了其強大的民主制度和選舉進程的力量。
The United States is committed to
maintaining cross-Strait peace and stability, and the peaceful resolution of
differences, free from coercion and pressure. The partnership between the American people and the people on Taiwan, rooted in democratic values,
continues to broaden and deepen across economic, cultural, and people-to-people ties.
美國致力於維護兩岸和平穩定,和平解決分歧,不受脅迫和壓力。美國人民與台灣住民間的夥伴關係根植於民主價值觀,在經濟、文化和人民間的聯繫中繼續擴大和深化。

… Secretary Blinken and Foreign
Minister Kamikawa discussed the situation in the Middle East, the two
countries’ enduring support for Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial
integrity, and the
importance of maintaining peace and stability across the Taiwan Strait as well as in the South China
Sea. They also discussed the possibility of collaboration on Women, Peace, and
Security initiatives.

… The Secretary reiterated the
importance of maintaining peace and stability across the Taiwan Strait and in the South China Sea. The two sides exchanged views on regional and
global issues, including Russia’s war against Ukraine, the Democratic People’s
Republic of Korea, and the Middle East, and the Secretary noted the importance
of upholding and defending navigational rights and freedoms in the Red Sea and
avoiding further escalation.
Both sides recognized the
importance of continuing to maintain open channels of communication between the
U.S. and the PRC.
