集體吃過甜點？KMT如此回應AIT！

The AIT Deputy Director invited the KMT vice chairs for a meeting. Several key concepts appear in the Facebook post: Taiwan’s enhanced defense capabilities, peace and stability across the Taiwan Strait, jointly highlighted, and dialogue. This points to one thing: the KMT’s position on strengthening Taiwan’s defense capabilities and maintaining peace and stability in the Taiwan Strait is fundamentally different from that of AIT. That is precisely why dialogue is needed—to try to understand the real intentions behind it.
We do not know the actual content of the conversation; we only know that an effort at dialogue was made. On the very same day that AIT posted this on Facebook, the KMT, for the fourth time in the Legislative Yuan, blocked the passage of the special defense budget bill (the enabling legislation, not the budget itself). This can be seen as a collective response from the KMT legislators who participated in the Xiamen trip, directed toward AIT. Meanwhile, the Chinese Communist Party’s legal warfare has long since begun—and AIT is now experiencing it firsthand.

AIT副處長邀請副主席會談，在FB貼文出現幾個重要觀念：台灣強化防衛能力、台海和平穩定、共同指出、對話。它指向：國民黨對於台灣強化防衛能力與維持還海和平穩定的觀點與AIT完全不同，所以，才需要透過對話來理解真意。
我們不知道對話內容，只知道有對話的努力。同一天AIT貼出FB貼文時，國民黨在立法院第四度阻擋國防特別預算條例（條例而非預算本身），算是參加廈門之行的國民黨委員以集體方式回應AIT。中共的法律戰早已經開打，AIT正在領教中。

美國在台協會副處長梁凱雯與國民黨副主席李乾龍及張榮恭會面，強調美台關係的重要，並就雙方關切的議題交流討論。會談期間，梁凱雯副處長重申美國支持台灣強化防衛能力，以及維持台海和平穩定的重要性。梁凱雯副處長與李乾龍副主席和張榮恭副主席亦共同指出，在應對相關挑戰時，對話具有重要價值。

AIT Deputy Director Karin Lang met with KMT Vice Chair Lee Chien-lung and Vice Chair Chang Rong-kung to highlight the importance of U.S.-Taiwan relations and discuss areas of mutual interest. During the meetings, Deputy Director Lang reaffirmed the United States' support for Taiwan’s enhanced defense capabilities and the importance of maintaining peace and stability across the Taiwan Strait. Deputy Director Lang, Vice Chair Lee, and Vice Chair Chang also highlighted the value of dialogue in addressing these challenges.
