The Alliance of Democracies Foundation was founded in 2017 by Anders Fogh Rasmussen, the Secretary General of NATO, the Prime Minister of Denmark, the Danish Minister of Economic Affairs, the Danish Minister for Taxation, and a leading Danish parliamentarian. He also established Rasmussen Global in October 2014, just half a year after Russia invaded and annexed the Crimean Peninsula from Ukraine.
On its official webpage, Rasmussen Global is one of the few international leaders combining experience from the top decision-making level in Denmark, the EU, and NATO with a high profile across the Atlantic.  Rasmussen advises clients on transatlantic issues, international affairs, and public policy management.
My focus is its Senior Representative and head of Rasmussen Global’s Kyiv office Olena Sotnyk, an expert on Ukraine’s Euro-Atlantic integration and plans for post-war reconstruction. Olena Sotnyk was a member of the Ukrainian Parliament from 2014 to 2019, a well-known legislator working on areas such as the rule of law, judicial system reform, and anti-corruption. She served as secretary of the Committee on European Integration, the head of the Sub-Committee on Approximation of Ukrainian Legislation to EU Law, a permanent delegate to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, and the Chairwoman and Vice-Chairwoman of the Committee on Legal Affairs and Human Rights. In 2019, she became the first female to represent Ukraine in the Yale World Fellows Program and serves as the advisor to the Deputy Prime Minister in Ukraine.

卸任北約秘書長首度訪台 拉斯穆森：支持台灣自由選擇｢自己的未來｣    新頭殼 20230102

丹麥民主聯盟主席拉斯穆森（Anders Fogh Rasmussen）3日將抵台訪問，此行將聚焦民主國家對台灣的支持及歐盟（European Union）與台灣的關係。這也是卸任的「北大西洋公約組織」（NATO）秘書長首次訪台，他在出發前盛讚台灣的民主成就，強調支持台灣選擇自己的未來。

拉斯穆森之前曾擔任丹麥總理和北約秘書長，2017年創辦「民主聯盟基金會」（Alliance of Democracies Foundation），每年在丹麥首都哥本哈根舉辦「哥本哈根民主高峰會」（Copenhagen Democracy Summit），成為國際民主社群重要的對話平台。

民主高峰會為捍衛台灣的自由和民主，2019年曾邀請外交部長吳釗燮親赴哥本哈根發表演說，蔡英文總統從2020年起也每年受邀發表演說，大幅提高國際社會對台灣的關注。拉斯穆森明天起將訪問台灣3天，並會晤蔡英文、副總統賴清德，並與立法委員和公民社會代表交流。

民主聯盟基金會指出，這是首次有卸任的北約秘書長訪問台灣，拉斯穆森此行將聚焦民主國家對台灣的支持及歐盟與台灣的關係。拉斯穆森對受邀訪台表達期待，他將藉此行表達對台灣自由、和平、獨立選擇自己未來的支持。拉斯穆森上次訪問台灣是1994年，當時他是年輕的國會議員。

拉斯穆森在出發前表示，過去30年來台灣發生巨大的改變，不僅成為經濟強國，在全球供應鏈扮演關鍵角色，民主也開花結果，今日的台灣對區域和全世界是自由燈塔。台灣的民主轉型本身已讓人印象深刻，每天得面對一個擁有核武鄰國的威脅和挑釁，尤其令人驚嘆。
