The Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK), a Kurdish militant political organization and armed guerrilla movement, asserts and secures the rights of the people through bloody attacks.  Besides Türkiye, the US, EU, UK, and NATO view PKK as a terrorist organization, but Sweden granted political asylum to its members.  In response to the insistence of Türkiye, Sweden refuses Mahmut Tat's political asylum application and deports him to Türkiye to serve a six-year sentence.
High-raising the flag of a neutral nation, Sweden will face a significant dilemma when it decides to get involved in international affairs further and secure its national interests, at the same time.

流亡瑞典的塔特(Mahmut Tat)在12月2日深夜乘坐民航班機從斯德哥爾摩抵達伊斯坦布爾，旋即被土耳其警方逮捕。土耳其官方媒體報道稱，塔特已經在12月3日移送司法部門。

塔特2015年逃亡至瑞典，因為他在土耳其國內因其庫爾德工人黨身份被判了六年多監禁。目前，瑞典官方也確認了塔特被移交土耳其的消息。瑞典移民部稱，當事人的政治避難申請被駁回，因此被驅逐出境。移民部長特意強調，驅逐令並非基於政府的決定，後者不會介入政治避難申請。

土耳其長期以來指責瑞典為"恐怖分子"提供庇護。今年6月，北約成員國土耳其與尋求加入北約的瑞典、芬蘭達成協議，後者同意向土耳其移交流亡的庫爾德工人黨成員，伊斯坦布爾則不再阻止北歐兩國加入北約。根據北約規定，吸納新成員加入必須要經過所有現成員國的一致批准。

就在幾天前，土耳其外長恰武索奧盧(Mevlüt Cavusoglu)在與瑞典、芬蘭外長會談後表示，瑞典方面的堅定聲明"非常好"，但是土耳其"希望看到具體行動"。他還贊揚了瑞典新一屆政府修訂相關法律的舉措。

庫爾德工人黨自80年代起就致力於維護在土耳其境內的庫爾德人權益，並不惜以對抗土耳其政府。幾十年來，該組織被指控需要為多起血腥襲擊案負責。土耳其軍警力量也經常強力進攻該國東南部甚至相鄰的伊拉克、敘利亞境內的庫爾德工人黨據點。目前，包括美國、歐盟在內的大部分西方國家已經應土耳其要求將庫爾德工人黨列為恐怖組織。
