Taiwan can only participate in the EXPO 2025 Osaka under the name of the corporations involved.  The authority of EXPO refuses Taiwan's participation under the name of Taiwan, ROC, ROC(Taiwan), Formosa, and even Chinese Taipei.
Taiwan has no choice but to conform itself by saying that Section 15.2 of the Taiwan Relations Act stipulates the term "Taiwan" includes the corporations, besides the islands, the people, and the governing authority.

2.  the term "Taiwan" includes, as the context may require, the islands of Taiwan and the Pescadores, the people on those islands, corporations and other entities and associations created or organized under the laws applied on those islands, and the governing authorities on Taiwan recognized by the United States as the Republic of China prior to January 1, 1979, and any successor governing authorities (including political subdivisions, agencies, and instrumentalities thereof).

2025年世界博覽會將在日本大阪登場，不過立委卻爆料，我國砸了20億卻被要求館內不能出現任何「中華民國、台灣」的文字和圖樣，即使是「Formosa」也不行，只能以「企業」名義參加，國民黨立委怒批，台日關係友好在哪？民進黨立委也說「乾脆不要去了」，行政院長蘇貞昌則怒批是中國打壓。

大阪世博台灣「被消失」 立委批：台日友好喊假的

睽違55年，世界博覽會將再度回到日本大阪舉辦，預計邀請150個國家和地區共襄盛舉，估計有3千萬人次參與，緊鑼密鼓籌辦中，但卻傳出台灣「被消失」。

國民黨立委楊瓊瓔爆料，經濟部編了20億預算，但我國被要求在館內不能出現任何中華民國、台灣、中華台北，甚至是Formosa等相關文字、符號意象，只能用「企業」名義參加，怒批所謂的台日友好根本是喊假的。

國民黨立委賴士葆說，「不是台日關係友好嗎？不是日本大哥哥嗎？怎麼會欺負小老弟呢？」民進黨立委許智傑也認為，如果不能用台灣名義參加，就不用參加。

傳中資進駐大阪世博會「矮化台灣」 朝野齊撻伐

反觀2010年上海世博會，天燈外型的「台灣館」引發轟動，2025年大阪世博會我方卻被矮化，朝野立委都看不下去，不過也傳出，由於中國是大阪世博會的主要贊助者，擔心中方反彈，所以才不允許，蘇揆也予以譴責。

蘇貞昌表示，台灣的國際處境非常困難，台灣在世界上有重大貢獻，卻因為中國的打壓，許多用國家名義參與的機會都被嚴重限縮。

國貿局承諾會極力爭取以台灣名稱參展，中國打壓我方國際空間再添一樁。
