The collective anxiety of the people of Taiwan on Taiwan’s scarcity of vaccines before June, which impacts the legitimacy of Tsai’s administration, is released temporarily and suddenly.
In the beginning, we presume that the issue is to resolve by purchasing the 10 million doses with local vaccines; however, it is settled for the time being by the donations from Japan and the U.S.
1. Terry Gou of Foxconn announced to donate 5 million doses of BNT to Taiwanese government;
2. NHK reported on June 1st that Japan donated 1.24 million doses of AZ vaccine, and the cargo delivered on June 4th;
3. the U.S. Senator announced to donate 750 thousand doses of vaccines during their 3-hour visit to Taipei on C-17A Globemaster cargo aircraft;
4. Tsai invited TSMC, Taiwan Semiconductor Corporation, to donate 5 million dosed of BNT vaccines and met with the presidents of the two corporations on June 18th;
5. the U.S. announced on June 19th that the cargo of 2.5 million doses of moderna vaccine is to arrive in Taipei on June 20th.
After considering the factors above, we are almost sure that the whole story can only be designing and dominating by the U.S., the only party which can manage the cross-nation resources, especially for TSMC, to crash the plot of Beijing.
So, yes, this is a replay of the 2009 Moraku Typhoon, when the then President MYJ asked PLA to relieve the damage, while the U.S. military presence proved who is in charge of the Taiwan issue.
