Chargé d'affaires?
It reminds me of the existence of the U.S. Liaison Office in China from
1973 to 1979, which was headed by a Chargé d'affaires.
The significance of the U.S. Liaison Office is a precedent of the dual
recognition. Now the fact that the U.S.
assigns Rob Forden, with his Taiwanese wife, to be the U.S. Chargé d'affaires
at Beijing, is sending a strong message to the CCP of the possibility degrading
the mutual relations between the U.S. and China.
