中國2架殲11戰機3月31日才飛越台灣海峽中線挑釁，美國五角大廈4月4日宣布，愛國者飛彈軍火商雷神公司（Raytheon）獲得新合約，將在台北支援愛國者防空系統，合約完成日期是2024年4月3日。

美國國防部宣布，雷神東南亞系統公司（Raytheon Southeast Asia Systems Company）獲得903萬5484美元（約台幣2億7833萬元）的合約，用於支援愛國者防空系統，這項標案有5家公司投標，得標的雷神東南亞系統公司是軍火商雷神公司的子公司。

五角大廈指出，愛國者飛彈系統的支援作業在台灣台北進行，預計2024年4月3日完成，這項標案屬於美國2019年「其他」類別的軍事採購計畫；但是公告中並未詳細說明合約內容包含的範圍。
