日本台灣交流協會

公益財團法人「交流協會」（Japan Interchange Association）自明年1月1日起將更名為公益財團法人「日本台灣交流協會」（Japan－Taiwan Exchange Association）

1972年9月29日，日本與中華人民共和國建交，與中華民國斷交，同年12月1日設立「交流協會」以維持台日經貿、技術、文化等的民間交流關係。起初，日方希望名稱是「日台交流協會」，但中華民國方面主張取名為「日華交流協會」，雙方未能妥協，最後只稱「交流協會」。

交流協會的性質原本是「財團法人」，但2012年4月1日起改為「公益財團法人」。交流協會功能類似於美國的美國在台協會，被視為準外交代表機構。
