The National Flag of the Republic of China(Taiwan). This flag is also the Naval Ensign of the R.O.C.(Taiwan)Navy.
The flag of the Republic of China (Chinese: 中華民國國旗; pinyin: Zhōnghuá Mínguó Guóqí) is red with a navy blue canton bearing a white sun with twelve triangular rays. In Chinese, the flag is commonly described as Blue Sky, White Sun, and a Wholly Red Earth (青天白日滿地紅; Qīng Tiān, Bái Rì, Mǎn Dì Hóng) to reflect its attributes.
During the early years of the 20th century, mainland China was in a very difficult situation and the government of the Ta-Tsing Empire (大清帝國) could not do anything about it. The weakened Ta-Tsing Empire continued to disintegrate during the Hsinhai Revolution(辛亥革命), finally collapsing after the Wuchang Uprising (武昌起義)on 10 October 1911. After the successful revolution led by Dr. Sun Yat-Sen(孫逸仙), the Ta-Tsing government was overthrown and the Republic of China was established on the 1st of January 1912. In fact, our country is the first democratic country in Asia.
The flag was first used in mainland China by the Kuomintang (KMT, the Chinese Nationalist Party) in 1917 and was made the official flag of the Republic of China (ROC) in 1928. It was enshrined in the 6th article of the Constitution of the Republic of China (中華民國憲法)when it was promulgated in 1947.
As the islands of Taiwan and Penghu had been under Japanese rule since 1895, the flag began use in Taiwan only after the 1945 handover. The flag is now mostly used within Taiwan, Penghu, Kinmen, Matsu and other outlying islands where the ROC relocated in 1949, after having lost the Chinese Civil War. As of yet, the Republic of China is usually known as Taiwan.
The National Day of the Republic of China(Taiwan)is on the 10th of October.
在雲程大這裡出沒久了,對於這面旗幟,除了台澎金馬獨立關稅領域內自嗨的 ROC National Flag 這個稱呼,還有一個國際公認卻對台澎民眾隱藏的識別身份:
