As a leading democracy and a technological powerhouse, Taiwan is a key U.S. partner in the Indo-Pacific. Though the United States does not have diplomatic relations with Taiwan, we have a robust unofficial relationship. The United States and Taiwan share similar values, deep commercial and economic links, and strong people-to-people ties, which form the bedrock of our friendship and serve as the impetus for expanding U.S. engagement with Taiwan.  作為領先的民主政體和科技重鎮，台灣是美國在印太地區的重要夥伴。儘管美國與台灣沒有正式的外交關係，但雙方擁有穩固的非官方關係。美國與台灣共享相似的價值觀，擁有深厚的商業與經濟聯繫，以及強大的人民對人民的聯繫，這些共同構成了雙方友誼的基石，並推動美國對台灣的進一步參與。

Through the American Institute in Taiwan (AIT), a non-profit corporation mandated by the Taiwan Relations Act to carry out the United States’ unofficial relations with Taiwan, our cooperation with Taiwan continues to expand. Taiwan has become an important U.S. partner in trade and investment, semiconductors and other critical supply chains, investment screening, science and technology, health, education, and advancing democratic values.  透過美國在台協會（AIT）——這是一家根據〈台灣關係法〉授權成立的非營利機構，負責處理美國與台灣的非官方關係——我們與台灣的合作持續擴展。台灣已成為美國在貿易與投資、半導體及其他關鍵供應鏈、投資審查、科技、健康、教育以及推動民主價值等領域的重要夥伴。

The United States’ approach to Taiwan has remained consistent across decades and administrations.  The United States has a longstanding one China policy, which is guided by the Taiwan Relations Act, the three Joint Communiqués, and the Six Assurances.  We continue to have an abiding interest in peace and stability across the Taiwan Strait. We oppose any unilateral changes to the status quo from either side. We expect cross-Strait differences to be resolved by peaceful means, free from coercion, in a manner acceptable to the people on both sides of the Strait. Consistent with the Taiwan Relations Ac , the United States makes available defense articles and services as necessary to enable Taiwan to maintain a sufficient self-defense capability – and maintains the capacity to resist any resort to force or other forms of coercion that would jeopardize the security, or the social or economic system, of the people on Taiwan.幾十年來，歷屆政府以來，美國對台灣的取向始終如一 。  美國有個長期的一個中國政策，以〈台灣關係法〉、〈三個聯合公報〉和〈六項保證〉為指導。  我們持續有個不變的利益於台灣海峽兩岸的和平與穩定。我們反對任何一方片面改變現狀。  我們期待兩岸分歧能夠以和平、非脅迫的方式、兩岸人民都能接受的方式得到解決。  符合〈台灣關係法〉，美國向台灣提供必要的國防物資與服務，使台灣能夠維持足夠的自衛能力，並保持抵抗的能力以應付任何危及台灣住民安全或社會或經濟制度的武力或其他形式脅迫手段。
