俄烏戰爭持續延燒許多西方國家也紛紛向烏克蘭伸出援手，波蘭於今年 5 月到訪韓國時就已表示，俄烏戰爭表明波蘭迫切需要韓國武器。據《CNN》報導，波蘭為了幫助烏克蘭抵禦俄羅斯攻擊向韓國購買了 1000 輛坦克、600 多門火炮和數十架戰鬥機。

波蘭國防部表示，華沙將向韓國購買 980 輛 K2 型坦克、648 輛自行式 K9 裝甲榴彈炮和 48 架 FA-50 戰鬥機。

據報導，由韓華防務公司製造的首批 48 門 K9 榴彈炮預計也將於今年運抵，第二批 600 門榴彈炮將於 2024 年開始交付。該部表示，從 2025 年起，這些榴彈炮將在波蘭生產。

波蘭國防部同時表示，這些裝甲車將部分取代波蘭捐贈給烏克蘭用於對抗俄羅斯的蘇聯時代坦克。波蘭國防部長馬里烏什·布拉什扎克於本月 22 日在推特上表示，該交易將顯著增強波蘭的安全和波蘭軍隊的實力。

對此韓國退役將軍全仁範表示，這次與波蘭的協議事首爾有史以來最大的單一武器出口協議。
