A day before KMT elected its youngest chairperson on March 7, 2020, a KMT legislator demonstrated how unrealistic this part can be.

A 71 years old KMT legislator Chen Chao-Ming questioned Minister of the Ministry of Health and Welfare.  He proudly suggested the minister that the elders can help produced the mask at home, ignoring the fact that mask production is high automation and technology-related stuff.

Apparently, Chen still lives in the “good old days” of the early 1970s, where Hsieh Dong-Min, Chairperson of Taiwan Province, raised “Let the living room be our factory” in 1972.

On the other hand, two young female elites, Audrey Tang, Minister without a portfolio of the Executive Yuan, and Gao Hong-An, a legislator of the Taiwan People's Party, are introducing IT technologies to help to control the epidemic.

武漢肺炎疫情延燒，國民黨立委陳超明日前質詢衛福部長陳時中時，喊話應將材料提供給地方，讓民眾在家自己做口罩，「老人家在家裡做20、30副給家裡用，這是我救你的方法」，許多網友聽完傻眼，音樂人許常德更怒嗆：「為何要讓陳時中浪費時間接受這種廢物質詢？」

陳超明5日於立院質詢時表示，由他提供口罩材料，在自己選區服務處召集社區發展協會一起來製作口罩，「摸蛤蜊兼洗褲」。他說看了很感動，一些阿公、阿嬤、社區的志工人員，大家非常熱烈地學習製作口罩，民眾也就不會吵，能夠解決口罩之亂，呼籲陳時中要去了解一下、馬上發動。

陳時中當時回應：「有這麼好的方法，委員應該早點跟我們說，我們才能早點去進行，我們研究看看。」網友認為陳時中是高級酸，因為這種自製口罩「根本不能夠防病毒，當醫用口罩跟包粽子一樣喔」。

許常德在臉書感嘆人民選出陳超明這種立委，暴露台灣人很低能，他認為如今疫情如此緊繃，陳時中竟然還要浪費時間接受廢物的質詢，「都不知道這個地方的人為什麼要養這廢物，這種廢物平常是戴他父母幫他做的口罩嗎，不然以後不准他們家人使用政府給的口罩，這種人比病毒還糟憑什麼帶人用的口罩啊」。

陳超明今（8）解釋，他的本意是希望提醒政府，能協助提供抗菌力強的原料，結合社區及民間力量，製作防菌效果更佳的「口罩套」，並非是要民眾在家自製醫療口罩；但質詢時間有限、無法完整表達。
