People who are living in a kind of echo chamber of their own opinions will lack the ability of logical thinking, even how morale and justice they believe they are.

The author generalizes five features of the so-called “middle voters” in Taiwan:

1.    They claimed that they have experienced the “good old days” in which Taiwanese people made money easily.

2.    There is no difference between Pan-Blue and Pan-Green.  The issue of the pro-Unification and the pro-independence are nonsense.  Taiwan can neither be independent nor be unification with China in the coming days.

3.  They consider the Republic of China (ROC) is the formal title of Taiwan as a state, rather than a form of government.   Therefore, it is a patriotic move to support ROC.

4.  They are reluctant to discuss political or ideological issues but focus on the activities of making money, saying that only the economic strength can preserve the status quo of Taiwan.  There is no need to procure arms from the U.S., in their viewpoint.

5.  Taiwan should follow a middle-way policy between the U.S. and China. 

The author's five features of the "middle voters" rooted in the propaganda-education contents during the 38 year-long martial law by KMT, the Nationalist Party of China.  The propaganda-education stressed to get through the unified college entrance examination, which hinders the logical thinking of the entire generation by recital the contents of the textbooks the authorities. 

The so-called “middle voters” coincide with the baby boomers, which is large in population.  Even they are wrong and outdated, yet they may prevail in any political campaigns. 

Taiwan will experience hard democracy life for at least a decade before it becomes mature.

文章所摘要的幾項特質，根基在戒嚴教育，透過聯考與背誦，錯誤觀念已經進入小腦區，非常頑強，而且是戰後嬰兒潮，人口數量非常多。

準此，台灣的民主在進入穩固前，還有10年的漂移期要度過。

務實的台獨工作者必須面對的是，若要確保台灣的主權存續，就必須說服這個樣貌的「中間選民」來投票，這個樣態的選民，人口佔了社會上的最多數，你平日在同溫層裡待很爽的極獨言論，完全無法打動他們，還會被說你很偏激。

這個影片很寶貴的地方在於，訪問者與被受訪者都呈現了「友善的態度」，跟我們看到中天的氣氣氣大媽講話的偏激氛圍很不同，這位阿姨「看起來有經過理性思考」、「很友善勸說」的態度，讓我們年輕人也無法對她凶狠，這種「事實充滿謬誤」但「態度充滿友善」的對話情緒，很容易說服他人，這種柔性說服的態度，是獨派更需要學習用來與中間選民良性對話。

一般人只會記得「阿姨講話很友善」、「她講的應該是對的吧」、「不要泛政治化，講講庶民生活問題」，請記得這個阿姨就是我們每天面對的一般人。

以上這些寶貴的資訊都是我們該學習之處。如何說服這樣的人投給你，這才是獨派該做的事。
