Taiwan news page of Google was found being changed from Traditional Chinese to Simplified Chinese yesterday, one day before the second anniversaries of Tsai Ing-wen taking her office a s a President.

According to my experience, this could not be the policy of Google.  This is the private move of Google’s Chinese employees or directors.

The Chinese employees of famous internet companies do the similar things, like changing web pages from Traditional Chinese to simplified one or deleted the item Taiwan, often.

VOA, Voice of America, is an example.

It had Traditional Chinese languages web page, besides Cantonese, service, however, the Traditional Chinese that Taiwanese are using has been removed from the list for times. 

Now there are no Traditional Chinese pages.  We have to learn t read Simplified Chinese.

VOA recovered the Tradition Chinese Pages days after the Netizens’ complaints.  However, less than a month, it came again.

The translation between Traditional and Simplified Chinese is as easy as a click.  

Now VOA provides no Traditional Chinese service.  I leave VOA, too.

Google translation does similar thing, Simplified Chinese takes over my Traditional Chinese option, without my consent.

This could be the private move of Chinese employees.  The supervisor, who knows nothing about the difference between Tradition Chinese and Simplified Chinese, cannot identify this private move of his/her subordinates.  The supervisor, who know it too well, might allow them to do so.

Traditional Chinese is a legacy of Chinese culture.  The Self-indulgence moves of Chinese employees is to extinct a treasure culture.

The “Chinese value” is not plural.  It is “You listen and follow, I say.”

我的經驗是，這並非系統錯誤，也不是Google公司的政策。

而是，公司內部的中國籍員工幹的。

在世界各地的中國籍員工，會「自動」幫忙將繁體字網頁刪除，或者「自動」將北京不喜歡的字眼改變。VOA就是這樣，將原有的繁體字語言刪除，經網友反映後恢復，又刪除。GGoogle 翻譯也一樣，總是會出現簡體字來取代繁體自選項。洋人不懂繁簡之別，所以。容易被操作

這樣來來回回好幾次。現在索性刪除不理。

所謂的「中國價值」—只准你說不准他說，很難防止。

台灣版的Google新聞主選單今天遭指出，原本的「台灣」選項已改成簡體字的「中华民国」。Google官方回應，「我們已經發現這個系統錯誤，並且正在修正中。」

Google新聞頁面主選單中，今天已找不到台灣，改成簡體字的「中华民国」，右側的新聞熱門主題，也被改為簡體字版本，如「张国炜」、「陈菊」、「国中教育会考」、「梅根．马克尔」等。

Google官方稍早回應，「我們已經發現這個系統錯誤，並且正在修正中。」

然而，這並非Google首次涉入兩岸敏感政治議題的事件，去年10月Google將兩岸新聞納入國際新聞中，當時即引起各界關注。
