All media reported that the one and only officer from Taiwan who attended
the ceremony of the PACOM and PACFLT joint change of command was Admiral Lee Hsi-Min.
But AIT leaked, on purpose, that there were, in fact, two high-ranking
officers at the ceremony.
The missing one ranked even higher, General Yen De-Fa, Chief of the
General Staff.
Why did AIT do this?
By the way, General Yen just visited the U.S. in March. It is unusual for the Chief of the General Staff to pay a second visit to the U.S. in a single year. Revised on 20150605

When a retired ROC general is reported saying in China that the armed forces of both the KMT and the CCP together are the armed forces of China, the following is worth quoting:
回覆刪除“(4) It was certainly not the intention of the American people whose forces liberated Formosa and the Pescadores at so great a cost in blood and treasure, that the Cairo Declaration and this Government’s action in facilitating Chinese control of the islands should have resulted in the creation of a menace to the stability and security of Southeast Asia and in the suffering which has been endured by the people of Formosa during the past four years.”
