孔傑榮評習近平，那馬呢？

As a professor of law school, Harvard University, Jeremy Cohen commented on Chinese politics.  He stated that Xi Jin-ping’s anti-corruption was obviously a political purge targeting Xi’s rivals.

However, winner-take-all has long been a political tradition both in the communist realm and on Chinese soil.  Almost every Chinese new leader had to launch such purges, including those in Taiwan.  

Ma Ying-jeou, a distinguished student of Professor Cohen, arrested and detained former President Chen Sui-bian and Chen’s associates before a legal trial was conducted. 

Ma’s government ill-treated Chen in jail and has rendered the 65-year-old Taiwanese president physically and mentally deteriorated.

Obviously, PRC is not alone in persecuting political rivals.  Yet, Cohen highlighted Xi’s purges but upstaged Ma’s brutality.

〔本報訊〕中國中央近年來積極執行反貪腐計畫，包括前中共重慶市委書記薄熙來、前中共中央政治局常委周永康、中共中央統戰部部長令計劃等人接連落馬。對此，馬英九總統的老師、紐約大學法學教授孔傑榮指出，外界質疑中國國家主席習近平只打反對自己的人，這個疑慮能否消除？

根據《中央社》報導，孔傑榮近日在英國《金融時報》發表評論文章，當中指出，雖然中共宣稱即使是最高領導人也不會免於反腐調查，但許多人對此感到懷疑；到目前為止，兩隻落網的所謂「大老虎」──周永康和薄熙來，明顯都是反對習近平的人。

孔傑榮也提及，一直有國際媒體報導指稱，周永康、薄熙來、令計劃等人曾密謀政變，企圖推翻習近平政權，但至今中共中央從未對此回應。

孔傑榮質疑，習近平和他的左右手、中共中央紀律檢查委員會書記王岐山能否更大膽地選擇調查對象，消除上層反腐不過是「政治復仇」的疑慮？孔傑榮指出，如果這麼做，代價可能大於收穫，恐造成剛穩定下來的中共中央領導集團動盪。
