Earning 506 million Australian dollars by leasing Darwin Port to the Landbridge Group, a peripheral conglomerate of PLA, for 99 years, the Australian government vowed to block such deals in the future under the massive political pressure from the US. 

PLA will have the capacity to undermine the Re-Balancing Asia strategy of the US, in which the Darwin Port holds the key points of both the mega triangles of Japan-Australia-India and US-Japan-Australia.  

However, the Australian government did not work out a plan to repair the harsh situation of the North Territory.

With the man-made island at the Scarborough Shoal and the lease of the Darwin Port, the Seventh Fleet might be a little too passé.        Revised on 20160323
