As the political mentor and the protector of Taipei City Mayor Ko Wen- je, James Soong supported Ko with his brief comment on the dispute of Taipei Arena.  He commented:

“Safety of the people should be the major concern. Whatever must be altered should be altered, whatever must be pulled down should be pulled down, whatever must be investigated should be investigated, and whoever must be sent to court should be sent to court.  However, it is improper to give the impression of doing it out of pure emotion.”
